General Storage

Guardsman has available a wide range of general storage units for self storage of domestic and business goods. We will have just what you need.

There are over 430 units on site ranging in size from 1.16m x 1.70m x 2.77m (3'9" x 5'7'' x 9'0") to 2.92m x 6.20m x 2.77m (9'8'' x 20'4" x 9'0"). Rentals vary with the size of the unit. Larger units have roller doors to facilitate access.

All general storage units have an average internal height of 2.77m (9'0"). The larger units have a 2.1m (6'10") clearance to the underside of the opened roller door.

Broadly there are four typical unit sizes to consider when deciding to store your personal possessions. These are:

Small Typically 1.42m x 2.11m (4'8" x 6'11")
Can be likened to a large cupboard. It will hold small items of furniture, boxes, archives, valuables and electrical items, particularly when on holidays.
Small to
Medium
Typically 2.18m x 2.17m (7'2" x 7'1")
Will store furniture and possessions equivalent to that normally available in a one bedroom apartment/unit.
Medium Typically 2.92m x 3.05m (9'8" x 10'0")
Holds sufficient furniture and white goods appropriate for a basic three bedroom home.
Large Typically 2.92m x 6.20m (9'8" x 20'4")
Appropriate for a four bedroom or large three bedroom home.

Within each of the broad divisions shown above there are units with different storage capacities and rental rates which may well meet your needs. Our extremely helpful staff are able to advise you.

Storage cannot be undertaken of the following:

All goods are stored at your sole risk. As Guardsman Self Storage legally has no insurable interest in the goods, you should arrange insurance cover. We can assist you to arrange adequate cover but we do not accept any form of commission etc. for our involvement.

All units are cleaned when vacated and prior to reletting.

Hand trolleys are available at no cost to assist you in moving heavy items.

Locks may be purchased at the office in order for you to lock your own unit and limit access to yourself or your authorised representative. A selection of cartons and packing materials is available at the office for purchase as protection for your belongings and goods.

All clients are asked to sign a monthly rental agreement which sets out the obligations and responsibilities of both parties. The agreement remains in force for the term of the storage period.
